Almaty, Kazakhstan: Day 25
Caught up with other teams including Jack Ozbourne and his friends (and associates). We were burned out. Found an (expensive) Almaty dinner and (even more expensive (and crappy)) hotel.
Almaty is a big, metropolitan city. And it’s expensive. No 2 dollar dinners here. We missed out on Kyrgyzstan because we were afraid to wheel the HiJet into the mountains and we’re sad about that . . . but we overheated a bit yesterday and we think it’s the best not to completely sacrifice the car at this point.
Moving along to Northern Kazakhstan as soon as possible. Praying the roads stay nice and that our stomachs clear up a bit!
