Bulgaria: Day 11

Woke to the copulation of dogs against our hull. Bad traffic in Bucharesti. Bulgaria provided fine Soviet-era roads. Stumbled upon a dilapidated monastery bee colony. Enchanted by dinner and music at a roadside motel.
From the road:
Slept in van at a truck stop north of Calimanesti after a wild ride thru the Transylvanian Alps canyon. On 2 Istanbul.

Stuck in traffic on Bucharest’s “beltway” en route 2 Stara Zagora. On the look out 4 12” wheels cus we heard they crack in Kazakstan but NO ONE has them. Had an oil spill in the duffle bag this a.m. & had to ditch it, the jumpsuits, & a sheet. Its hot out again, but flat again too.

Bulgaria! Crossed the border at Ruse where the guards signed our car & told us they listen to heavy metal & then surprise! Cyrillic road signs! Ack!

Found an old creepy monastery where there was supposed 2 b a campsite but was abandoned save a bunch of beehives, very spooky. Pressed on & we’re now eating dinner at a roadside restaurant with a pool & campsite. 2maro Istanbul!
